ACT Statement on Camp-Baucus "Simpler Taxes for America Tour"

Washington, D.C. - Today, the Alliance for Competitive Taxation (ACT) issued the following statement regarding Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) and House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp's (R-MI) Simpler Taxes for America Tour stop in Minneapolis-St. Paul:

"ACT applauds Chairman Baucus and Chairman Camp for getting out of Washington and meeting with businesses and workers across the country to learn firsthand why tax reform is important to them. This is an important next step towards enacting tax reform that lowers the corporate rate, adopts a modernized international system and ends tax breaks and preferences without adding to the deficit. We look forward to working with Chairman Baucus, Chairman Camp, the rest of Congress, and the Obama Administration to reform the tax code in a way that will help create American jobs and make America more competitive in the global economy."

The Alliance for Competitive Taxation (ACT) members have a combined 59,000 employees in Minnesota in a wide range of industries from manufacturing to retail to finance and technology. Tax reform will create new opportunities for these workers and companies to compete abroad and grow in the United States.
