Alliance for Competitive Taxation Issues Statement on President Trump's Address to Joint Session of Congress

WASHINGTON – The Alliance for Competitive Taxation (ACT), a coalition of leading American businesses that employ millions of American workers, issued the following statement after President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress.

“Common-sense tax reform is long overdue. The current corporate tax code hurts American workers and puts U.S. businesses at a competitive disadvantage in the global economy. President Trump's remarks signaled that his Administration recognizes that we must take advantage of this unique opportunity to modernize the outdated U.S. tax code, and we are pleased to see the Administration working with both chambers of Congress to level the playing field for American businesses.

“Reducing the corporate tax rate and establishing a modern international tax system would increase investment, employment and growth in the United States and enhance the competitiveness of American businesses and workers in global markets. ACT looks forward to working with the Trump Administration and leaders in Congress to achieve comprehensive tax reform that will grow the economy, foster innovation, boost investment in the United States, and create jobs and opportunities for American workers.”_x000D_
